Research shows that alcohol and drugs are the primary risk factors that can lead to truancy, school performance issues and crime. Life Skills for Youth teaches children and teens the necessary skills to build a better future through skills that are taught in the classroom and manufactured with “real life” situations in mind. Students engage in fun, hands-on activities with knowledge that can easily be shared amongst peers.
This program brings together middle school youth in Lynchburg City, Amherst County and Appomattox County. We create cooperative prevention efforts to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and reduce high school drop-out rates to ensure success for our youth.
This program encourages open dialogue about self-image, decision making, online safety and conflict resolution.
