Jason G. Wright, PhD, LPC, LMFT – Therapist/Supervisor
Jason has been providing counseling services since 1995, and has worked in private practice, for public community services boards, and now for HumanKind. Additionally, Jason has been teaching online graduate-level counseling courses since 2006.
He has experience working with a broad range of mental and emotional challenges, including psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), stress and anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, personality disorder, and substance use issues. He also has experience working with the seriously mentally ill, including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, helping them learn and utilize emotional modulation and other skills to minimize stress and subsequent symptoms.
Currently Jason is proving individual and family therapy at HumanKind, and is also leading a 10-week anger management group. Jason believes that the best way to help people is to use a “client-centered” approach in which the therapist and client work together as a team to establish realistic goals and strategies for treatment. This approach tends to build motivation faster than other more traditional approaches and often leads to quicker and more thorough results. When not working, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, reading and playing the drums.
